What are the Rice Alumni Online Services?

The Rice Alumni Online Services is an online alumni community designed to facilitate communication among Rice alumni. To date, through the online services, you can search the alumni directory, update your information, enable or update lifetime email forwarding, register online for alumni events, and make an online gift to Rice. Other functions, such as enhanced career services and website hosting for Rice Alumni constituency groups, will soon be available.

Do I need to be a member of the Rice Alumni or pay a fee to access Rice Alumni Online Services?

All former students who attended Rice University for at least two semesters are considered Rice alumni and are automatically members of the Rice Alumni. There is no fee to access the online services.

I can’t seem to register successfully.

Please email arahelp@rice.edu and supply your name, social security number, graduation year, phone number and email address.

I need to change my password.

If necessary, you may change your password by going to Update Your Profile and entering the requested information in the two boxes under "Personal Information".

I’m concerned about having my personal information available on the site.

The privacy of your personal information is our top priority. Only you can access and update your personal information, and only Rice alumni can view alumni directory information. Areas of the website containing private information are located on a separate, secure server utilizing SSL protection. If in the past you have requested that information be withheld, that request is honored in the online directory. If you do not wish to have certain information published online, you can limit that information through the "Do Not Display" option on your profile. My update information is not appearing.

Please allow 30 days for your updated information to be reviewed and merged into the directory. Note: the Do Not Display options take effect immediately.

How can I change my Email Forwarding name or destination address?

Before you can change your email forwarding destination address or name, you must first set it up after your email forwarding is set up, you can change your destination address by simply going to email forwarding and click on change email (toward the top). Your Email Forwarding address cannot be changed. In order to use a different name, you must first delete the account by clicking Delete Email (Next to change Email). Once you have deleted your account you may then create a new one with a different Email Name.
